Hello,
Does anyone have any suggestions on sim centers with the G1000 in the west?

Also I’ve read a lot about the Redbird now, what the difference between that and the Frasca, etc…..

I’m not up on locations for good simulators.  I’d like to add a request for those who can contribute.  Please include the type of simulators (I believe there are different grades or levels) and what avionics packages are available - steam/legacy, Avidyne (and type package), Garmin (and type package).  Thanks much.

Michael Phillips has a Redbird with G1000 and six pack w/430/530 combo in Camarillo, CA.  Probably the best simulator training in Southern California.

Galvin Flying in Seattle has three G1000 FTDs.  I know Michael is down in Camarillo.  There is also a full motion Redbird in Carlsbad, CA.

There is also some Cirrus FTDs in Las Vegas.

This URL is the “Find a Simulator” that is from the Redbird Simulator website.  http://www.redbirdflightsimulations.com/?page_id=19

Redbird offers 7 different levels of fligh simulator.  I have never used one but will later this year as I know of several trips that will put me at two locations.  I’m going to use one non-motion and another that is full motion.

One of my issues with ‘Flight Training Devices’ has been the dislike of the depth perception and limitations with ‘buttonology’.  If I could find an affordable option (yeah, I know; depends on the definition), I’d purchase one.

I fear that solution is way more than $10,000.  Ugh.  But I’m going to look anyway.  You never know what is in development.  A good reason to occasionally go to events like Oshkosh and AOPA’s Summit.

Thanks guys,
All good suggestions.  I think even a day or so in one of these would really help with my instrument skills.
